The only correct solution is the banning of inconspicuous involuntary arbitrary data collection including any future use of data collected in this way in the past. Even if we "owned" our data this would only economically incentivize spyware. Instead any data we contribute to an AI would be voluntary and explicit in the pursuit of creating a system with intentional outcomes. Instead of a "data market" that would be a disaster (albeit a better one than the current disaster) we should be intentionally creating the data for these systems and all have input on it. THAT could and should be compensated.
It also doesn't prevent any AI tools being created that could help people better express themselves and create. The problem here isn't that an AI can do human labor it's that it's controlled by a small number of capitalists. Furthermore my family a few generations back were Amish and I'm a computer programmer. Maybe you should consider that. ;)
