All knowledge based professions are in danger.
What you are experiencing is a generalized AI. Which is the equivalent of taking someone from the street and ask them about law. You are making fun of a toddler who didn't go to law school.
But when SPECIALIZED AI start emerging, they will become more and more reliable. Until the time comes that they are more reliable at the knowledge of law than any lawyer.
The same can be said of any knowledge profession.
What is your value as a lawyer? You spend time learning things that the average guy didn't.
Specialize an AI on knowing law and case law. And it eventually be more effective than you Or any specialized knowledge profession for that matter.
The future will not be a centralized oracle. But multiple specialized AI on their own knowledge area. Just as human specialize in a certain area.
Lawyers would still remain, for a while. Until AI gets to learn the nuisances of LYING and identifying a lie.
Then they will be without a job.
