TLDR: I need to put more effort into recording my process whenever painting digitally in photoshop on the computer. procreate is automatic, thank God! I recently went to collect some test prints of my personal artwork spanning over the last decade at my local print shop, and the person who handled the printing referred to me as “oh you’re the guy with the A.I. images!!!” 10 years of my sweat blood and tears reduced to 2 letters😢 That’s the second time my work has been “accused” of being A.I. generated. First time was by a friend who said it jokingly about a portrait I had done a few years back. Now, as an artist who is currently considering selling his artwork at art fairs and conventions, I’ve recently become increasingly scared to death of receiving enough accusations to deceive backlash, but realistically doubt that’ll happen. All that said, I will put more effort into recording more of my process. It’s automatic on procreate, which I love. However, photoshop is a little trickier because I work with huge file sizes that already take up damn near all my RAM (16gigs) in photoshop. Ultimately I need a bigger, better desktop computer with at least 64gigs (preferably 128gigs), but I’ll need some time to save up some money for this. The one thing that can save me for now is the fact that I try to avoid flattening layers in my photoshop files as much as possible. The layers are too messy to be suspected of anything, and I happen to still have a lot of process videos of my previous work. But seriously, I really need to start recording by future work in earnest, because this A.I. infiltration is getting out of hand!
