Pedestrians walking far in Phoenix Arizona is fatal due to heat. Huston Texas looks dead because they have underground pedways but its still a climate driven car culture. Yes cities in the past were more walkable and had more trams but their population and standard of living was far lower. Florida and parts of the Carolinas were just evacuated twice due to hurricane. Only 1% got out via public transport and I suspect half the casualties were people with no car access. Your missing the real reasons for cars. otherwise a good analysis of robot cars and good graphics.
