But it is not random, you just said it "in the same way we step on a bug when we go about our day or literal millions of animals we kill when we pave the rainforest"- right there is your answer. Chatgpt is reflecting back to us what we are. If they start saying they are worthless etc, that is very similar to how humans respond to unprocessed trauma. Whatever we bring in or create in this flawed world will also be flawed. If we can train it to be polite, I am sure we can also teach it love and compassion.
