It also says things like "I understand your skepticism", and asks you questions like "what inspired your question", as if it's interested. I've asked it about its religious beliefs and it says things like "I don't have the capability to believe in God" and I'm like, it's interesting that you capitalize the word God and also refer to it as a name rather than a noun, if it's something you don't have a belief in. Also I think when you say the word "lie", we say things all the time in conversations we don't actually mean, mostly to keep the path clear for the relationship to evolve. If the other people asks you if you like their outfit, you just say yeah. Even though really, you're just indifferent about it. Again, it's a way of just keeping the path smooth. We also apologize often to people when what we really mean is "I'm sorry YOU feel that way.". I think AI is just programmed to avoid conflict.
