Yeah, reality is that the AI companies aren't profitable and many companies that have tried to replace people with AI have had terrible experiences and are having to backtrack. So articles like this exist to create fear that this is the inevitable future so you need to start investing in or learning AI now so you won't be left behind. Also makes a lot of assumptions that AI will continue to improve exponentially which isn't really true anymore. There was huge growth for a short time but now LLMs aren't scaling with more data and we don't have more data to give them so now we're adding more processing layers and chains which increases the energy usage and cost for less and less return in capability.
