Short answer is that it's insignificant. I mean it's great but you don't offset fossile fuels which were put into the ground over millenia by planting new trees or even bringing primeval forests back. If we think about this in a short term climate change context, forests actually have a net warming effect due to a lower albedo than cleared land.
