@TheParadigmAI no offence but you sound very naive. Companies have already outsourced thousands of customer service jobs to AI in case you haven’t noticed, and before that a lot more went to cheap overseas labourers. You say people can just go elsewhere, which isn’t always true, and it doesn’t matter when an entire industry is shifting in the same direction. You think customer service jobs aren’t important or representative of other jobs? That’s like ignoring the bear attack because it’s not eating you yet, just your friends. I’m making this point with customer service jobs, but that’s just one tiny example, virtually every white-collar desk job is officially at risk and you’re just sitting here in denial. It’s not happening because AI is so awesome and useful, it’s happening because corporations are greedy, shortsighted, and indifferent to the livelihoods of workers.
