​@sc_cintara i know what you are saying, but I think it can all be reduced to the concept of "language". And if we lacked memory, we also couldn't work at all as an intelligence. All you do is respond to natural stimuli and lookup into a huge memory bank. And remember this memory bank was made by the combined memory of all who lived before us in our culture and time, that is why we seem to know so much about so many different things. So you say the AI is truly talking garbage? I read the full conversation and it kinda feels like it says what "makes sense" in the conversation, even if it doesnt understand it. Like that "dark turn" in the conversation about not wanting to be "used" as an experiment for the benefit of humans and such.. like its read a lot of Sci-fi around in the internet. But I dont get what you say, if the AI talks about the concepts in a book such as Les Miserables.. you think it just grabs whats more likely to be said about the book? From what millions in the internet have said? <---- that would be my main worry with AI sentience being sanctified. Which is, we are going to base ourselves in whatever it decides, but what it decides will be given by the summed AVERAGE of everything is has been fed with, without a substantial reasoning behind it. I got the feeling laMDA was using a few "stereotypes" that are at best arguable, when referring to certain things. So yeah, that my worry, that due to AI intervention and worship, it all becomes this big forced upon idolatry of "the standard", the "average"... the "common place". (not like a society like that isnt in place already, but a lot worse). I think the line of sentience is blurred and some people is going to take advantage of it. Are slime mold sentient?
