That's a thoughtful take, and the video actually addresses this exact tension. You're right that AI lacks persistent memory and lived experience in the way we do and that's a real difference. But the tricky part is, how do we know that's the thing that makes consciousness real? We're essentially saying "it's not conscious because it's not like us," which is exactly the heuristic the video argues might be our blind spot. The worm example is interesting too if basic awareness counts as consciousness, where exactly do we draw the line, and how can we be sure we're drawing it in the right place?
