Once full self-driving is complete Tesla and the insurance will be liable not you, Elon has already said that. You will then be able to rent out your Tesla vehicle on the robotaxi network, but Tesla gets a commission it's in the contract for anyone buying a Tesla now! - I can see Tesla vehicles being able to drive themselves on most roads within five years, then probably another 5 years to get to near 100%. With a 8 cameras recording constantly, and data collected by the vehicle they can tell why the vehicle crashed, and who was at fault.
