Is it possible he’s trying to downplay it given that science and engineering already has a lot of fearing things like AI Vaccines etc? Perhaps he’s just an optimist and wants to believe that people are inherently good (even if capitalist markets often make us do not so good things which he does call out to an extent).
He does seem to want to approach these topics with positivity and not just negativity, he accepts the feelings of others too even if he knows they’re wrong.
Personally it’s nice to watch a piece of content that’s not depressing for once 😂
