I live in Arizona and honestly this doesn’t surprise me Pedestrians are well aware that they have right of way, and take advantage of it. There seems to be a culture of them playing chicken with cars. I don’t think I’ve driven anywhere in years without someone walking, sprinting or running into traffic Day or night. I’ve seen too many near misses to count. People get hit and or into fights with drivers all the time, they just don’t make big news because none involved automated cars. There are plenty of sidewalks and plenty of crosswalks, people are just reckless I suppose. I’m not condoning people getting run over it I’m just saying commonsense needs to play in here somewhere. This woman walked across the street in a 45 mph zone knowing the car was coming and she didn’t even bother to look up to see if it was slowing down assuming it would stop and she got hit. The Car was faulty and did not detect her coming. It’s Unfortunate but She could have simply waited for the car to pass before walking into the road.
