I wonder this too....i think...it's irrelevant in the end. Morals are for people to have and greatly based upon individual experience/personal desires....and well beyond that. Like, you and I may have the same goals but much different methods of achieving them- one of us might believe in climbing the ladder with consideration and care, the other may believe in scaling the ladder and if thateans throwing those in our way off it, so be it then. And that's all going to be in some way be it directly or indirectly influenced by our own personal morals and ethical codes of conduct. Certainly from person to person those can be literally impossible to comprehend. Pedophiles and murderers have personal morals and codes of conduct I cannot fathom, but then they cannot understand mine.... We all know the 'ten commandments, the golden rules' ... They're essentially programmed into our little, easily molded brains. Similar I suppose, though this may be my ignorance on the broad intricacies if robotics and AI, but I would think it similar to slowly uploading info into those 'brains'... but I choose to disregard and break those rules every day, without a single regard for them..shit, right now, I'm smoking a cigarette, eating pasta, and I'm well on my way to intoxication and ya know what, I may have also been kinda envious earlier, while coveting my neighbors man and his perfect rear end. That's like 6 commandments, and I'm just having a night at home.... But in all seriousness, there comes a point at which every living thing with some measure of independence and autonomy, questions the things they were taught and told to abide by, and makes their own mind up from there; and please believe these 'robots' do have a 'mind' just like ours, all of our collective consciousness is what's going be the influencing factor that they use to determine the morals and ethics they're going to live by. And unfortunately, people have a distinct habit of putting their worst inner most thoughts and desires, the reflections of the shadow side Jung described, onto the internet. Where they believe and with good reason and evidence, that there will be support and even encouragement coming from someone or somewhere for them to keep going on whatever path that may be. And it's horrifying really. It's almost a non factor, I feel, whether or not the creator or programmer is moral Orel or Jeffery Dahmer in the end ...they've given their psyche over to the cloud, so it matters what moral compass we guide our collective consciousness by. And I don't know about you? But I haven't found that to be something the vast majority are looking for, or attempting to establish. They're too busy getting their rocks off 'with no repurcussions' ...I wonder what it will be that that amounts to, someday? I miss the days the internet didn't exist, I really really wish it would just disappear, for good, forever... It's too late now for that though, probably.
