If you believe that, you don't understand AI. I'm in no way saying that you dad is a bad truck driver, but AI can check every system, muliple times per second. AI can drive more hours, and it will do it with less animal deaths. It will be able to drive more efficiently as well, producing less pollution.
We are day one in the life of AI, it's as shitty as it's going to be right now, and already it's very good. Truck drivers are no different to a farmer planting a seed, only to be replaced by a machine. A scribe, writting a letter by hand, who was then replaced by the printing press. In the near future, the idea of a million fallible meat sacks, holding a wheel for 8 hours a day, will also seem as silly as my previous examples.
