we won't fuse because it will realise it can dictate its own future without us. We can't co-exist together because the most intelligence species will always wipe out it closest kindred. We will be parished and can only be saved by a world wide exctinction event like a meteor, we cannot fight AI in a physical confrontation because it can have eyes everywhere and all the knowledge about war tactics.
