Well, they used to say the same thing about photography. But to be fair, photography did eventually evolve into its own separate medium with separate technical knowledge.
This is not the vibe I am getting with AI. It seems to be more like a tool with the primary and express purpose of deliberately promoting deskilling of labor. So if we eventually find a way to make AI into its own medium with a given amount of specialized skills to use and master, they will just develop it even further in order to bring down the skill cap even furhter.
