@ronster. It's different when a machine automates it, that's the whole point. Now that this "referencing" is affecting artist's very existance, they do have the right to prohibit the use of their images. Also, since it's all machine learning, no one is really learning the technique, it's all layers uppon layers of humanly incomprehensive nodes, so it adds to the unfair feeling. (and no, don't say you can undertand it, I'm a computer science student and read ml papers, best you can go off of is intuition)
