@2crüdebandsecond note. I disagree that prompting AI is no different than commissioning a painter, though I see what you are getting at.
At the same time, if a person wants some visual candy, why not free AI versus an unaffordable commission?
As long as the material is clearly labelled AI, includes the prompt and generator information, then who am I to judge?
If someone wants a painting from me, they have to wait 8 weeks (for painting, drying and varnishing). If they don’t care what made the image, then they can go cheap and fast. And that is exactly what they’ll get. Cheap, fast, tasteless and soulless. Sadly, a reflection of modern US society.
