After the industrial revolution the US implemented many socialist policies that greatly decreased the high wealth gap due to the industrial revolution. We call that time the golden age of capitalism, so it was pretty good. Something similar might happen now, although algorithmic media might be too damaging to democracy preventing this from happening again.
