The scary thing is that a lot of their facial recognition tech comes from American companies. Google is one of them. There is even a tech company based (I believe headquarted in Nevada) in the US that lists that it conducts business with China for survallience tech and has a Chinese CEO running it. Also there are companies like Geocomply that sell software that can detect some VPNs (If It's being used or not, I don't believe it can detect the location still) so companies can cut the signal of the server that is through a VPN.
