You must really dislike unmanned drones?
Look, at some point AI will become better than humans at this task. It'll probably happen with aircraft before cars (to a large extent it already has), but it will happen with cars and trucks.
Not going to say it'll happen soon, just that it will happen at some point.
At that point, why do you want a human? The human would just cause more accidents.
