Translator here. 6000 usd per month 20 hours per week. Semi-retired. Half my workload has no MT discounts. There are no real differences for me. My languages are considered trivial to automate nowadays, i.e. English and Norwegian. But MT is still just 90-95% correct and basically sucks. A human is required to validate output. Hourly income 100+ USD. Would I become a translator in 2025? Why not. But base skills are more important.
