This is a great comment. This video is so heavily biased I couldn't help but laugh at the content creator and her viewers. I'm not a professional or someone who is well educated on how these models work, I want to clarify that before continuing. But I don't believe training the models with real human work, counts as plagiarism nor stealing. It is not a 1:1, even if the model reproduced it, coincidence. If none of the above, the model does not have its own agenda nor interests (this might change in the future however). I don't think AI art is that big of a deal. What l have issues with, is when pretentious ppl claim it to be soulless. Projecting their own subjective belief of what is art and not, who decides that? The person. Literally, it is an art. It is trained on real human work, how can that not be art? Nonetheless, even I'm bothered when I see it in places where I expect to see human art or photography. I don't make an issue out of it though, I just move on. I also want to touch on some of the examples Lavender gave in her video, AI isn't even that bad in terms of how "hurtful" it is on the environment. Especially in that totally not biased example at 3:09. I will admit it's a lot, but not as impactful as a lot of articles/studies make it out to be. I believe the other use cases are the fault of bad actors, not AI regarding misinformation and/or blackmail, a point you made in your comment I agree with. Still, I'm interested to see where this technology goes, it's not exactly new but I have high hopes for true AI. A world where it can benefit humanity is what everyone should be hoping for. Though... I still have some doubts that it'll be a smooth transition or if it'll amount to even half of its potential. Afterall, it is a heavily hyped area full of promise, exaggeration or full on lies and grifts. I unfortunately couldn't say everything I would want to, I'm just not educated enough to explain it in a useful way. But I am thankful to see other people who share similar thoughts on something so controversial. Surprisingly, in this sea of bias of a comment section. Peace.
