It always amazes me how blurred the line between civil and criminal charges ends up in USA. Like ok cool you killed a human being with your autonomous truck. That's a criminal offense. Vehicular manslaughter. So um it's not about insurance to me or money or class action lawsuits. It's punishing the person responsible. For a drunk truck driver it's clear who is responsible. For an autonomous vehicle the blame will get passed down from the shareholders to some underling. While they run to the bank with bags full of blood money.
