To your point, all AI is is a program on a computer. Some people think that it's a living creature that will take over the world. A computer program is a finite set of instructions that runs on a.............computer. Take away the programming code and it's just a box with circuit boards, storage devices, memory chips, cables, fans and a power source. It's not going to pick itself up and do it's own thing because it can't think outside how it's been programmed. However..........if the mouse falls on the floor you may step on it and fall onto the floor and injure yourself but again, the computer can't plan to do that to get back at you for spilling coffee on it's keyboard.
