@Xenono54 They would just end up saying that it's not the same because nothing is physically taken on the internet. Idea theft is a crime too, it would be good to point out the reason why it is (in the statue case unfairness that everyone worked on displaying their ideas while someone took that and instantly made displays based on those ideas).
I didn't mention the neighbor giving the option of opting out because some of the companies scan your stuff without you even knowing and they won't even tell you about the option to opt out. It finds your stuff on the internet, it takes it. DeviantArt was convinced by its users to change to automatic opt-out, hope other platforms choose to do so the same.
