You're underestimating the pace and scale of what’s coming. This isn't just another overhyped podcast panic it's a structural shift in how economies function. The reason people keep warning about it is because the signs are real, not imagined.
AI isn't like past tech revolutions that created as many jobs as they destroyed. This time, it's different large parts of white collar work writing, coding, design, even legal research can already be automated today, not in 10 years. We're talking about millions of jobs being replaced, not just shuffled around.
And sure, the shelves didn’t go empty last time but that’s comparing supply chain noise to a complete transformation of the labor market. Just because one prediction didn’t come true doesn’t mean all warnings are invalid. You can scoff now, but let’s actually talk in 24 months. When people with degrees can’t find work and “retraining” doesn’t cut it, this won’t feel so far fetched.
