They only demonstrate similar behaviors because they are trained on human content with those behaviors. LLM especially is just fancy autocomplete and saying it just needs to be a little bit bigger to achieve it is like saying we just need a bit taller ladder to get into orbit. One day we may have AGI but this is just hype over systems that are fundamentally limited to a narrow field of tasks.
