I agree there needs to be regulations and concent of creators to use their work in training.
I have very little faith that regulatory bodies will be able to keep up with the technology in any meaningful way.
I think they're will always be a place for human created art, but it will be a smaller group of humans that are needed to make that art.
For full disclosure, I use AI in a very limited way when I write and I have found that it has indeed helped me learn the skill. Not to be confused with using it like "here's my idea, make my story" but taking the time to ask questions like "why does the sentence work better formatted this way" or "why use this word over that one" and other editing questions you would (I assume) discuss with an editor. Ideally I would love to work with an editor, but that's not practical financially. Using AI for editing has removed my biggest barrier to entry for learning the skill.
And I am completely aware that my view using it essentially for a hobby is far different than a professional author's view on the matter. It should NOT be legal to use someone else's creative work to create a product that competes against them.
