Also… every single advancement Scott references is true. But those took decades. You didn’t replace every farmhand with a tractor in one year, or even five years, or even two decades. Computers didn’t become mass produced and replace the typewriter and typists over night. And this is actively being talked about my economics everywhere. In 20 years, yeah Ai won’t be a problem, BUT we have to get there. And the next 20 years when our system cannot adapt as fast as the actual changes are - is objectively going to be disastrous.
Scott is such a goon. “Can you respond to Scott’s position”? You can tell the narcissist who is in charge because Scott can’t respond to the information that he is given by someone who is more in the field and more knowledgeable than him. He respects true expertise until it contradicts what he believes and then he is like “actually I’m smarter than the experts” then tells some half-cocked theory.
This episode, like most episodes, would be objectively better and higher value without Scott in it. Even though that opening joke was a banger.
