@TheSolarWolf I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean to imply that we should be more efficient and faster with our art. What I tried to say, is that it allows us to be more efficient and faster. A lot of artists have goals and aspirations to do massive amounts of art or pieces of art that would take way too long to do on your own. This results in the need to hire more artists to make the work happen in a reasonable time (while also possibly derailing the project from its original vision). But with AI, you can let the AI do the tedious/grunt work while you as the real artist work on the things that actually matter. For example. Let's say that you are looking to make an animation for a story you've had in your head for a while. You know that it would take you years to make if you worked on it by yourself. You don't have the money to hire animator since you are just one person and crowd funding wouldn't really help since you have to social status in the art field. Your only options are to change your vision until its possible by one person or take years to make it while also making enough money off of other art to sustain yourself. Now imagine that this person has access to AI, they figure out how to get the AI to generate images that are like 60% there already, now your work is vastly cut down (probably not by 60% since you still have to generate the images and go through the generations to pick the best ones, which you then alter to be 100% finished). as for the point you didn't really address, I think its important to lower the entry barrier for art, since being good at art takes a long time, and a lot of people who might have great ideas; might not be able/lucky enough to spend that time and resources to express those ideas. Giving those people an easy start with something like AI will just increase the amount of ideas other artists can be inspired by.
