@johnjay7822... not sure I can provide a straightforward answer but here are a couple of things to consider:
1) many skilled devs are already combining generative AI in their code, test and deployment workflows. It is very difficult for anyone lacking their dev skills to compete with this no matter how good AI tools get, because experienced/relevant devs will continue to get better at using them.
2) given 1) the best thing anyone can do is cultivate and grow strong subject matter expertise in areas like healthcare, insurance, finance, manufacturing, etc. along with growing their ability to use AI tools.
Many of us recognized that the "agile industrial complex" and even other more established/advanced forms of project management were becoming unnecessary in many engineering organizations.
The bottom line is anything that can be automated with AI ultimately will. Administrative work involving relationship and workflow management/or task prioritization are prime candidates for being replaced by AI, because AI workflow automation being done by engineers/devs "higher in the hierarchy" provides much of the context needed to automate the admin portion.
