There are many factors that mitigate this:
1.consumer staples may survive because people can't live without them, only that they will take up higher percentage of your income.
2. Companies that sell their service or products to other companies will survive too.
3. Economy is not a closed loop, other countries that are behind on ai will be the customers.
4. as AI grows, temporary jobs and potential new jobs appear, jobs that bank on human factors like human connection and emotion. Or perhaps space colonization that require humans.
5. As AI evolves far beyond human capability, UBI can happen, as long as AI is strong enough to create abundance and see supporting human needs as a mere trivial matter compared to its value creation speed. Analogy, today every person can support some ants without much effort.
