The company should be keeping all 5 AND using AI. That produces a competitive advantage because it’s more productive than the team of just 2. That additional productivity creates space for more innovation, and theoretically, a better mouse trap. Unfortunately management views AI as a way to reduce cost instead of as a way to get ahead. It’s classic short term thinking; raise profit this quarter by cutting costs instead of investing now for much bigger wins down the line.
