@JasonHarding_1ai's hallucinate because it's making a prediction about what comes next that isn't accurate to reality.
Say you give chatgpt a prompt like "what is someobscuretvshow about?". What it's doing is essentially working out based on its training data what is the likely way that discussion would continue. If the data is weak, which for more obscure topics it probably is, it will predict a continuation that isn't accurate.
My point is though, these models are essentially reflections of ourselves. Which severely limits their ability to actually replace us entirely.
