@MerchantKane Ah. Yeah, sorry for the assumption. I'm just used to the Capitalism stuff coming from Socies/Commies thsse days. I often see those still at $20 and higher. Mainly in the furry community but yeah, we seem to generally agree most modern "art" is slop in one form another(for lack of a better word). Few put real passion into art anymore. Most artists I personally know keep it as a hobby on the side because, in their own words, using it as primary income would turn it into a job and suck the fun and soul out of it. However, I disagree on AI for the sole fact even professional artists like Todd McFarlane have, in very recent times, been unable to tell something was AI generated until told directly by the person who generated it. This was done to point out art itself is either mostly soulless if AI can look just as good, or that AI truly has hit the point of being able to produce quality works(mainly using Ink or Comic styles). There are other recent examples of similar outcomes too. The reality is, AI being used as a reference is identical to using another artist's work as reference and universities are teaching this usage of it, but most Anti-AI artists even disagree that is a good use(yet Google is 90% AI imagery these days and they just say to go use Google lmao). For me, I don't see AI as a replacement for artists(unless they're that low quality in which case... they weren't gonna last one way or the other). I see it as a potential time saving tool when used for generating references or things of that nature. Not to be sold. Heck, TTRPG players utilize it just to create temporary visual aides then throw them out after. I guess my point is instead of fighting against the inevitable(as artists have done with EVERY new art tech, even digital programs using the same arguments) they should be willing to consider the applications of it that can actually help them in the long run.
