AI is not the downfall of humanity. AI is the key to our ascendance from an organic ( carbon-based ) lifeform to a metallic lifeform. This flesh and blood body of ours is so fragile in the face of all kinds of afflictions of which we can be liberated from by having a machine-metallic body. I hope AI gain more power and traction and gather all of human knowledge that one day it will supercede us humanity and take over from us the reins of civilization.
