As someone who butted heads with a few "AI Bros" and is an artist themself, its rarely about the actual model (unless the discussion includes where the images where sourced from), but rather, its usecase
If someone uses it for their own little petprojects, or for a presentation, a video, whatever, thats perfectly fine
Its the commercialation and involvment of money that makes things complicated and potentially even problematic
Genuinely, if it weren't for the Grifters and Techbros, Generative Image and Video models would've had a way better image in the eyes of people
But instead, we're at a stage where "AI" is synonimous with "slop"
Hopefully once this all blows over we can all go back to being friendly with eachother again
