⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@thewannabecritic7490You can care for a project, you’re just not going to want to invest money in something that could be abandoned or readjusted… It’s not really like blending the images… C image is not just A + B image mashed together (unless its image to image maybe arguably), that completely misunderstands how the technology works… AI can make a weirdly shaped apple that is blue off of learning from 10 images of perfectly normal looking non-blue apples… It’s basically working like a mathematical equation using a bunch of 1s and 0s to be able to determine from noise how an apple should look (pixel by pixel as you said, though not really necessarily super reliant on each image of an apple to figure out any individual pixels)… Turns out you can basically break all art into very complicated mathematics… And you can be creative in ways that require art but don’t depend on art… If you’re making a game it can be a pretty big ask to just pick up drawing skills and also too much of a time investment to do personally and your creative focus is more so on the game than the visuals anyway… But yeah, it doesn’t ‘think’ that’s just phrasing… If you know John Searle’s Chinese room thought experiment it’s more like that… The AI is like a person in isolation in a room, forced to give a Chinese phrase in order to leave and then given a book of Chinese words… Eventually you can maybe get this person who doesn’t know Chinese to give you the correct outputs of Chinese phrases, maybe even reliably, but assuming they don’t manage to learn Chinese they have no understanding of the output being given… They’re just trained to give the desired output… Because of this it is argued we’d never know when AI is conscious since it’d be indistinguishable from an AI giving the output of a conscious AI… It’s also good to know the distinction between weak and strong AI, this is obviously not strong AI, it’s still just an algorithm… Anyway i got bad news while typing this so im just stopping here
