@Æ-z4sIts quite a common trend that when a new, more efficient method of production is introduced, traditional sales often drop because people switch to the newer, cheaper, or more effective option. Honestly, the root cause of the "it hurts artists that are trying to sell their works" problem is the economic system, rather than AI image generators in itself. The economic system is at fault (of the suffering) because there are still people (more relevant to our conversation, artists) that (because of the drop in sales of traditional works, which leads to lower profits,) lack basic needs even though there is an abundance of resources.
