there are too few doctors that treat humans like humans. Having an AI replace them wouldn't really change the experience. And you are smart to point out that this field, outside of research (and AI is coming for that as well), could easily be replaced by AI due to it being highly procedural in nature. In fact the AI would do a MUCH better job making extremely fast and accurate decisions when time is critical. It can think faster than you and it's been trained on everything you've seen and experienced plus all your colleagues. It's better than the average doctor in every way imaginable.
When they decided to train AI on how to write code that's when pandora's box was open. Once it can think logically about existing code and write complex software with pattern recognition within the code to further enhance it that's the point when all other jobs become easy for it. The future of jobs will be writing spec files for AI systems, and you don't need a room full of people to do that.
