@dribrom Oh, yeah. When I say discovered I mean like. "Discovered'. Columbused. All non white people had sense, washed their hands, and didn't have the plague as badly as a result. There are higher rates of autoimmune diseases in white people to this day because we let our dumb asses get the plague so bad, out of ignorance and superstition. I meant in the context of "modern" or "western" medicine as a formalized practice. But either way, we're not coming up with brand new stuff. A lot of the strides we make are going back to the smart parts of more traditional medicine. Like, they make honey wound gel now that's better than neosporin, because it turns out we were right about honey. But that's researching ideas we've already had. There's never going to be a magic bullet, and if there were, "ai" wouldn't find it, because "ai" can only repeat what it's been told.
