This is partially true! We actually have far more technology in the Ai space other than just LLMs. We do have actual chess game engines with strict rules. We also have hybrid models called mixture of experts in the llm space. We also have the ability to link llm to other applications with MCP. We have programs that solve algebra. Its really a matter of getting all these things combined. Its no small taks, but we are headed towards that direction. The current reasoning models to a bit more than just predict the next token already. They build a plan, or chain of thought first. And they are grouping knowledge into seperate groups. Its true its not fully reasoning currently but it is doing more than just choosing the next word already and in the future if we can get more of our existing technology combined it will be much closer to reasoning.
