@your_mas_boyfriendbut like... Capitalists would love to replace labor jobs too, no? It seems absurd to blame capitalism for AI specifically. To me it seems like a bunch of people wanted to teach machines something, but chose to work on art and language because it interested them more than, like, spreadsheets. Ironically the AI developers were more interested in working with art than menial labor, and as a result ended up irreversibly damaging art as a concept. THEN capitalism came in and amplified it when it started to seem profitable.
