They aren't actually "cases," they're strings of text that kind of look like cases. And they didn't "appear out of thin air;" ChatGPT made them up, one word at a time. It chose a word randomly, with chances based on all the words before it, that make it "look right." It wasn't really covered in the video, but the fake cases are constantly contradicting themselves or spouting complete nonsense. They're really just complete gibberish that seems kind of case-y if you squint. There's no universe in which they could pass as actual legal writing.
