Now there is two sides to every story, so I'll be the first to admit - it isn't regulated well enough, and predatory practices like that of which photoshop and other similar wildly popular art programs take part in, is wrong in just about every concievable way. I believe that if an Ai art company wants to use an image for it's dataset, that they should have to purchase a license from the original artist, and that artist should get a royalty, *every* single time their image is used as a reference for a generated image. But above all else, lays one important fundamental principle. If the artist does *NOT* want their art to be used for Ai.. No one - not Court, nor Company, nor Public body - can force someone to give it up. Ai art companies should never have an art piece in their dataset that was obtained without concent, and even if they do, they should never keep it in their data set if the original artist explicitly requests they remove it. That's where problems will be solved, in creating channels of communication & mediation between the artists, and the companies involved, where the ultimate decision, on their art, lays with the artist. This sort of thing was, in the past, sorted by the development of powerful unions, and the exersizing of working strikes and such. NOT sabotaging companies, in actual fact that was specifically banned.
