AI is the product of capitalism. It is literally the embodiment of the capitalist machine. It is the most efficient means of production, which is why it is displacing humans. You cannot decouple AI from capitalism.
As for fairness, I don't think you see the core issue of disempowerment. Having no labour leverage means having no leverage at all. It does not create a fairer system, unless, of course, the fairness in question is the homogenous devaluation of the individual. It's equal, because everyone has the value and power of exactly nil.
