First abstract isn't "art". Then splatter isn't "art". Then anime/cartoon isn't "art". Then digital isn't "art". Then graphics isn't "art". Then 3D isn't "art". Then lighting isn't "art". And now AI isn't "art". When will this entire species learn? AI Art can be as expressive as splatter painting or 2D art. You can take a sketch and run it into AI to create ideas, you can create an entire piece of art by hand and use AI to create multiple versions (I believe artist Ryky did something like this waaaay back when involving the four seasons). When photoshop first came out, it was more akin to a combination of PowerPoint and MS Paint, it wasn't too easy for people to express themselves with it in its early days. Painters would go as far as to say that Photoshop art was "cheating" because you could use the select tool, paint bucket, copy paste, and layers whereas traditional would have to do it "the real way". Literally also the idea of AI "stealing art" is so awkward, literally that is what the human brain does. It's not insightful to say "you have never had an original thought" because EVERYONE knows this in theory, but when machine does it it's big no-no. All these artists claiming to be oh so progressive and forward thinking until a new technology comes out that makes them feel slightly smaller than they already did and then they do a complete 180 on their ethics to shit on it. They yap about energy consumption when the very website they use for commissions and their yapping (Twitter/X) consumes more energy just from data storage and what not along with other social medias. IDK It just seems like a very unreflective and easy topic to shit on. I would say to do better but knowing the entirety of this species, "better" will never be satisfied because there is always a bigger fish, with one solution comes other problems. The average intellect or knowledge of how to reason or even WILLINGNESS to think critically of your own positions is collectively quite low/poor. Maybe school systems should teach reasoning, critical thought, introspection, and meta cognitive awareness, but what do I know fr. Your other videos are much better.
